Sustainability at Contrast

We believe that meetings between people are the most powerful form of communication. At the same time, we know that the events industry has a responsibility to minimize the environmental impact that comes with people traveling, things being built and torn down, and energy being consumed.  

But there are many things that could be done much better. We can make wise choices. Choices that reduce our footprint without reducing the experience. That is the path we have chosen. 

We want to raise awareness. In the industry, among our customers, and among ourselves. We want to reduce our impact on the environment while improving the quality of what we deliver. And we want to do this together with suppliers who share our view of responsibility, creativity, and long-term thinking. 

For us at Contrast, sustainability is a way of thinking, creating, and collaborating. 

We work with sustainability in a structured way

We work with our hearts, but also with a clear structure.

Our management system PureAct gives us clarity, direction, anda comprehensive overview. There, we follow up on goals, measure progress, and identify new opportunities. 

Every year, we produce a sustainability reportso so you can learn about our efforts and progress. 

When you work with us, you can be sure that we think about sustainability in everything we do. 

How do events become sustainable, really?

Our sustainability work is about taking small but important steps every day.
In concrete terms, this can mean (for example):

• We reuse booths, stages, and materials
• We print without dates so that signs, walls, and other items can last longer.
• We collaborate with hotels and facilities that take sustainability seriously
• We offset our travels, as well as our customers' when we get the chance.
• We avoid single-use materials, plan wisely, and recycle everything we can.
• We show consideration for people through good working conditions, security, and balance in working life.

The sustainability goals we aim for

The UN's global goals help us stay on track. We are working specifically toward three that are closely related to our mission:

Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth
For us, this means happy employees, healthy partnerships, and a sustainable economy.

Goal 12: Sustainable consumption and production
We create events that use resources with care.

Goal 13: Combat climate change
We measure, make conscious choices, and continuously improve our sustainability work.

Our way forward

We know we're not there yet. But we also know that every step counts.

Every project is an opportunity to think innovatively, make wise choices, and inspire others to follow suit.
